1.1 Human Resource Development (Capacity Building):- This section is entrusted with the task of Human Resource Development through trainings, workshops, seminars, study sessions, meetings and follow up classes. The capacity building is done for everyone in the organization’s structure and other Community Based Organizations (CBOs). Capacity building is done at the three-tier system of TSSS: at village (unit) level, regional level and central level. In all three-level, there are general bodies and executive bodies which gather periodically to plan and evaluate the activities and also for regular training related to various social issues and needs. Monthly planning and evaluation of activities of all three levels is conducted with the staff and periodical training is given according to the need and demands of situation. Under this section, TSSS has an attractive project namely Lok Manch which is oriented to capacitate people to achieve their basic entitlements and rights.
Lok Manch is a National Partnership Platform of Jesuit Provinces in India, NGOs, like-minded academics, activists and persons in advocacy. The main objective of the platform is to capacitate the poor and the marginalized communities to access their due entitlements rights offered through various provisions in the National Food Security Act (NFSA), Scheduled Caste Sub Plans (SCSPs), Scheduled Tribe Sub Plans (STSPs), Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and other Central and State sponsored schemes. The focus group consists of Dalits, Adivasis, women, urban poor and other marginalized communities. TSSS is one among the 14 partners in the state of Kerala and one out of 4 partners in Thiruvananthapuram District.
