Family being the basic social cell in the society, TSSS is committed to integrate, develop and assist those families in various crises that they may come out with productive capabilities. A continious accompaniment of the families for six years enables them to be self-reliant and confident to build up their future. To materialize this vision TSSS has the family development programme in three segments. Save A Family Programme (1.3.1) and Karunyapoorvam (1.3.2) and the third segment is Ockhi Family Development Programme, which is described in the previous point. TSSS implement the Family Development Programme (FDP) of SAFP in 6 coastal regions. At the organizational level, two teams – Family Facilitation Team (FFT) and Family Action Team (FAT) were constituted for effective planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programme. The activities undertaken under the programme include the collection of baseline data, selection and approval of new families, family level planning and development of plans, its implementation, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building and providing financial support for income generation and meeting other basic needs.
Save a Family Plan (SAFP)
Save a Family Plan is a family development programme initiated in Canada, operated through financial assistance from donors and has been implemented in collaboration with local partner organizations in different regions. TSSS is one among the 40 partner NGOs in India. The overall goal of SAFP is to encourage, capacitate and support the poor families to move towards self-reliance to become fully contributing members of their local community, thereby, ensures to lead a dignified life. Identified poor families from the less privileged sections of the society are its focus group. TSSS implement the Family Development Programme (FDP) of SAFP in 6 coastal regions. Karunyapoorvam
Karunyapoorvam is a family development scheme introduced and implemented by TSSS on the occasion of Episcopal Silver Jubilee year of Most Rev. Dr Soosa Pakiam, in 2016 which was also the “Year of Compassion” to bring up poor and underprivileged families to self-reliance and mainstream of the society through welfare schemes and income generation programmes. Karunyapoorvam is run in the model of Save A Family Plan. It aims at the integral development of the poor families. TSSS mobilizes contributions from good hearted people to help the poor families. At present 152 families are supported by this programme.
