The Institution has its origin during 1995 near Vettucadu, Thiruvananthapuram with a small group of orphans who were either handicapped or mentally challenged. The Institution was initiated by and administered by the sisters of the “Congregation of Sisters of Charity” under the Latin Archdiocese of Trivandrum. Our Vision is “To identify with the Crucified Christ and share the compassionate love with the poor and the needy for their integral liberation”. Our Mission is Integrate prayer and action in life. Make available the services to the poor, uplifting differently abled, caring the old and destitute with the motto of Love, Service and Sacrifice – Total surrender to God. Rub the tears of the people who are being disregarded and out caste from their families, Cater their physical, medical and psychological need, Give food, shelter and medical aid During 2008 the Ashram was shifted to the new house. The residence and chapel was blessed on 17-01—2008 and with 47 inmates and began to function. Certificate of Recognition from the ‘Board of Control for Orphanages and Other Charitable Ones, Kerala’ was granted to Akasha Paravakal with effect from 01-09-2012 which is being renewed after every 4 years.
SWASTY FOUNDATON TRUST MEETING HELD ON 21-05-2017
This was an important get together in which Most Rev. Dr. Soosa Pakiam, Archbishop of Trivandrum was present. Mr. Jacob Poonuse D.G.P. graced the occasion. There were 25 M.B.B.S. Doctors of the Foundation was also present. In this occasion sponsorship was awarded to Akasha Paravakal and an agreement was executed with TSSS and Swasthy Foundation to this effect. The agreement comes into force w.e.f. 31-08-2017. By virtue of this agreement the following benefits will be assured to the inmates on this Institution. 1.Taking care of the health concerns, 2.Dispense medical care,3.Provide periodical visit and check up
SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
22-08-2017 was the Mother Superior’s Day Celebration. There were representatives from other houses of “Sisters of Charity”. On this occasion we specially rememberd the inmates who left us for their eternal reward. Mr. Naveen Mr. Ramappan Mr. Arul and Mr. Vishnu, Christmas Celebration. There was no Christmas Celebration due to the Ockhy Cyclone. A cake was sponsored by the Jewelleers Mrs. Joy Alukkas was cut on that day
