‘Mother Teresa Day Care Centre’ is an institution for the differently abled children. The centre was founded in 2004 by Trivandrum Social Service Society. It was the felt need of the community to take care and to rehabilitate children with cerebral palsy and other related disabilities. The centre is situated in the Kanjirmkulam Panchayath and in the Parish of Pulluvila. It is located in the north of Kochupally parish church and west of Chavady Junction.

OBJECTIVES:
  • To improve the quality of life of differently abled children to the maximum extend possible
  • To provide support to persons with disabilities to live independently
  • To help parents, relatives and the society to care and protect the persons with disabilities

ACHIEVEMENTS:

The Centre has been empowering the disabled and helping them to live independently. There are now 41 students in this institution. Most of them could not utter a single word when they join but due to the training given to them they are able to communicate. We have multiple handicapped children and the given physiotherapy and movement therapy improve their physical fitness. Our students participate in various competitions and own rewards. We have now initiated a band troop by our students.
