Housing Programme
Housing: Shelter is one of the basic needs of every human being. Many people come under the operational area of TSSS lack proper habitation. TSSS has certain extent tried to meet some of its needs in collaboration with the Government and other agencies. One of the positive aspects of this housing scheme is that the beneficiaries are taking a major role in the construction process, which in turn creates a sense of ownership and responsibility. After the tsunami of 2004, December, TSSS has constructed more than 1500 houses in its operational area.
House Maintenance: Many poor people whose houses were damaged were assisted for house maintenance. Along with the financial assistance from TSSS, the contributions of the beneficiaries, well wishers and physical labour force of youth and beneficiaries also moved to fulfill the target.
